My Introduction

My name is Maria. I am 35 years old and was born in a small country Czech Republic. This is my second semester at ESC as a transfer student. I’m currently one semester away from completing my Associate’s Degree in Management and Economics with concentration in Human Resource Management.

I live in a small town Wilmington in North Carolina, which is called one of the most beautiful cities in South. Wilmington, N.C.’s location on the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean makes this area a hub for watersports activity. Whether you are interesting spending a day on a beach, shopping, sightseeing or any other activity, you will find excellent resources to get you out.

I have no children yet, but two very handful dogs that give me unconditional love. Blue is the Weimeraner, he is very energetic and playful. Falco is a chocolate lab who is more settled down and likes his time for himself. I love to take them out and spend time with them as much as possible.

My goal is to complete Bachelor Degree in Management and Economics with concentration in Human Resource Management. In the past, I could not decide what major to take, but after I took the course ‘Human Resource Management’, I knew immediately that this is the best career path for me.

I believe this course will help me improve my English and other skills that I can apply to variety of carriers. Also, I hope to gain more knowledge about the portrayals of women and teenage girls in the media. I’m very excited to learn and examine media in terms of how women and girls in particular are portrayed by the culture industries.
